Attention Texas Retailers

As you all know, this weekend is the Texas Sales Tax Holiday and certain Energy Star, Water Conserving, and WaterSense products qualify as leasable items.

The great news is, there’s nothing ‘extra’ for you to do.  Ring the transaction as you normally would.

 

TEMPOE will take care of the rest!  We will adjust leases accordingly, after the lease transaction has been completed, but before their first regular payment is due to ensure that all qualifying items are tax-exempt. 

 

PLEASE NOTE:  The lease adjustment will include backing out any tax paid on their first in-store payment.

Effective today: one time passcode

In an effort to improve our ability to protect you against fraudulent activity, we have made an adjustment to our application process. As of May 3, 2018, TEMPOE will be implementing a one time passcode (OTPC) during the lease application process. A OTPC is a code customers will receive on their cellphone to provide on the application. This code will be used to verify the customer’s phone number and improve TEMPOE’s proficiency to protect against fraud. This additional step adds a couple of seconds to the application process, but will help us better verify your customer’s identity – ultimately allowing us to increase approval rates and approval amounts.

New Process:
  • When your customer enters his/her phone number on the TEMPOE application, a one time passcode will be sent to the number entered on the application.
  • A pop up window will appear on the application screen, and it will ask you to enter the passcode that was sent to the entered phone number.
  • Ask your customer to enter the passcode in the pop up window and hit continue.

Nothing else has changed with our application process and the minimum customer qualifications remain the same. Because of the nature of this release, there are user experience changes.   With that in mind, please make sure you clear their browser cache and restart the browser. If at anytime you have any questions please reach out to our Retailer Support Team at 844-863-2948 and we will be happy to help.

Tax changes have arrived!

Tax changes have arrived! Beginning Tuesday, September 12, 2017, you will no longer include taxes in TEMPOE lease transactions.

 

What changes will I see in PULSE?

When entering items into the cart you are required to choose a drop down from the Tax Category to identify each item as Taxable or Non-Taxable.

You may also include a Tax Quote and a State and Local fee Quote, if applicable.

 

Do I include taxes when I submit funding in PayPULSE?

No. Only submit the amount of the lease otherwise, funding will be delayed.

Changes for Taxes Coming Soon

Coming Soon! TEMPOE will be changing the way taxes are applied to leases. We anticipate the change will take affect somewhere between September 1, 2017 and September 30, 2017.

The change will align TEMPOE with the common tax collection practice utilized in today’s marketplace. It also allows the retailer to increase sales by utilizing 100% of the approval amount for merchandise—rather than a part of it being used for the taxes on the sale.

You will be receiving a call from a TEMPOE Sales Support Team Member explaining the details of the change. In addition, you will also be receiving an email outlining the details and what to expect next. Stay tuned for more information soon!!

Important System Enhancement: CVV Security

As TEMPOE looks to strengthen the security of customer information, we will be implementing the need to enter a CVV number when a customer uses any card for his or her first or ongoing form of payment.
