As the President of TEMPOE, Orlando Zayas is a proven leader and experienced general management executive with 20 years of increasing leadership responsibility. Orlando has worked in a variety of industries such as financial services, insurance, and automotive. He has held business leadership roles in GE Money, GE Capital, Wachovia, and multiple privately held corporations. Orlando has functional experience in marketing, sales, and operations, holds an EMBA from the University of Texas, and has a Six Sigma Black Belt. While his professional travels take him to TEMPOE offices in multiple states, he enjoys spending his free time at his home in Austin, Texas. Orlando is an avid Longhorns fan.
Chief Marketing Officer
For 20 years, Amanda has flourished in marketing, communications, and relationship management roles. As a leader, she has a history of building strong teams, increasing ROI, and enhancing programs within ever changing markets. Amanda has spearheaded strategic planning and execution across cross-functional teams with repeated successes. A finance industry specialist, she has worked with GE Money, Wachovia, Wells Fargo, and Axcess Financial. Amanda is originally from Minnesota and has a passion for the culture of the Midwest. She lives in Northeast Cincinnati with her husband and two sons.
Chief Operating Officer
Josh is responsible for overseeing the multilocation collection and customer service teams as well as all operational efficiencies. He establishes service levels and ensures that they are met and exceeded by his teams while driving down delinquency and company bad debt loss. Monitoring the post-origination consumer lifecycle reinforces his ability to provide an unsurpassed level of service to customers and clients. Josh is committed to building a culture that empowers employees to make decisions and take calculated risks. By attacking challenges, driving accountability, allowing mistakes, and celebrating victories, he believes his team becomes a cohesive unit that understands the measurements of success. Chief Information Officer
Scott joined TEMPOE in 2011, bringing more than 20 years of IT leadership. He has conducted next generation IT strategy and system upgrades for several New England-based companies, including Timberland, Brookstone, Elbit/Kollsman, State Street Bank and Trust, as well as New Hampshire’s legislative branch. Scott has also created IT strategy for numerous companies in the education, health care, financial, defense, staffing, and retail industries. A leading trainer/instructor, Scott has taught hundreds of students during the past 15 years, within their companies, at private training centers, and at select universities. Most recently, he has spoken at numerous industry events and user groups about the benefits of building towards the “Dynamic IT Environment.” Scott holds more than 25 certifications from leading industry vendors, including Microsoft, Cisco, and Apple. He attended Daniel Webster College, the University of New Hampshire, and Southern New Hampshire University.
Chief Administrative Officer
As was one of the original employees of TEMPOE, Donna brings more than 12 years of experience to her role as chief administrative officer. She oversees business operations, including B2B and B2C servicing, recovery services, merchant enrollment, consumer account research, and more. Before joining TEMPOE, Donna served as operations manager at a financial services company, where her focus on the customer, operational efficiency, underwriting, and execution led to significant growth, resulting in new product development and service offerings. She also spent two years as a manager at Advance America. Donna resides in Hooksett, New Hampshire, with her husband and extended family, including her first grandchild.
Chief Financial Officer
Holding a Masters in Accountancy and a BA in Business, Karissa brings over 10 years of finance leadership to the TEMPOE organization. She has managed portfolios of $1.5B+ and overseen both U.S. and international transactions.
Karissa currently leads finance and accounting functions for TEMPOE with responsibilities including direct oversight of financial reporting, the monthly close process, financial planning and analysis, treasury, internal controls, tax, investor relations, and capital/debt structure. With a proven track record of results, leading a successful team, implementing change, and growing profits, Karissa solves complex problems.
Karissa resides in NYC with her husband but enjoys weekly travel to multiple offices during the week and vacation destinations on weekends.
EVP, Retail Sales
JR is honored to manage a sales organization that helps consumers and retailers bridge the divide that is created by credit challenges. His role is to ensure that TEMPOE’s B2B relationships are serviced above and beyond expectation. Over 20 years into his career, JR still considers himself a retailer at heart. He owes this to being raised in his family’s appliance business, working for large local and regional retailers, and managing member services for one of the nation’s largest buying group before joining TEMPOE in 2011. JR’s strong personal connection to the independent retailers in the industry, and their needs, helps him establish and maintain strong relationships for TEMPOE. He loves turning dreams into reality. JR recently moved to Northeast Cincinnati with his wife and daughter.
SVP, Client Development
Chris guides the field team to create a sense of comfort and a culture of use for all TEMPOE products. Building performance teams that advance the customer—not just themselves—has long been his passion. Chris’s goal is to exceed the desired results in a way that creates success for TEMPOE, his team, and their customers. His mission is to help others achieve their highest potential. Chris has held various sales and senior management positions. He began his Professional journey in consumer leasing over 20 years ago and has been in the credit-challenged consumer space ever since.

Phil Layher is TEMPOE’s executive vice president of business development. Layher works to create new business relationships with large retailers. He is also responsible for seeking additional partnership opportunities. “Phil’s strong retailer relationships, combined with his knowledge of second- and third-tier financing solutions fits perfectly with our innovation and growth strategies,” said Orlando Zayas, TEMPOE president. Layher loves TEMPOE because the company is “way ahead of the game,” especially when it comes to technology and marketing prowess, he says. “Layher loves that the TEMPOE team is among the most personable and professional in the industry. Layher earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Montana State University. He currently resides in Austin, Texas, with his wife. Layher has four grown children.
