TEMPOE ACQUIRES FLEXPAY PLUS ASSETS FROM KAHUNA PAYMENT SOLUTIONS


 

This asset acquisition allows TEMPOE to offer retail installment sales in 16 states

 

(MANCHESTER, NH – Oct. 7, 2015) – TEMPOE, a leading provider of no credit required shopping, has completed an asset purchase from Bloomington, Illinois-based Kahuna Payment Solutions (KPS). The move allows TEMPOE to broaden its offerings to include no credit needed retail installment sales through the FlexPay PLUS® label to consumers in 16 states. FlexPay PLUS is primarily offered in the furniture, jewelry, sporting equipment, pet and automotive industries.

“This will expand our offering and our geographic footprint,” said Orlando Zayas, TEMPOE president. “We are always looking at ways we can provide more services to our retailers and their customers to help them grow their business.”

TEMPOE’s market strategy includes expanding its product collection to provide retailers with multiple leasing and finance solutions for their customers. The FlexPay PLUS acquisition enables TEMPOE to offer an additional no credit required program in Alaska, Arizona, California, Delaware, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, North Dakota, New Hampshire, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin.

“Now we can offer customers a choice of alternative finance solutions, which is good for retailers and customers alike,” said Zayas. “This will help us grow business and build customer loyalty.”

The Kahuna name will be discontinued, however the leadership team of KPS will join TEMPOE to continue leading the growth of the FlexPay PLUS book of business.

The acquisition of FlexPay PLUS is TEMPOE’s second recent acquisition. Last week, the company also announced it had acquired SmartPay Leasing, Inc., which provides leasing options for smartphones, tablets and other electronic devices.

TEMPOE ACQUIRES SMARTPAY LEASING, INC.

(MANCHESTER, NH – Sept. 30, 2015)

TEMPOE, a leading provider of no credit required shopping, has acquired San Francisco-based SmartPayTM Leasing, Inc. SmartPay, which provides lease options for smartphones, tablets and other wireless devices, was acquired from its parent company, Better Finance, Inc.

 
“Consumers are looking for ways to spread out payments for these products, which have become essential to everyday life,” said Orlando Zayas, TEMPOE president. “This is a logical move for us and expands TEMPOE’s offerings into this rapidly growing market.”

 
SmartPay Leasing currently allows wireless carriers and retailers to spread customer payments over time for smartphones and other consumer electronics items. The service is available across the U.S.

 

The SmartPay name will be integrated into TEMPOE’s portfolio of offerings, and the combined company will provide more benefits for retailers and their customers. The SmartPay team, led by General Manager Ken Pedotto, will remain in place in San Francisco.

Prior to joining TEMPOE, Tilley worked for industry leaders within the finance technology industry, including Vantiv (formerly Fifth Third Processing Solutions) and UniRush LLC, for more than 10 years. Throughout his career, Tilley has worked in several different capacities, including relationship/vendor management, sales, customer service, financial reporting, product management, and data analytics.

TEMPOE at BrandSource Convention and Expo

We’re proud to announce the release of our brand new website, the TEMPOE Outlet. You can access this site by logging into Retailer PULSE and looking under the Marketing tab. Inside the TEMPOE Outlet, you can order all of your marketing materials and even create your own customized materials. You’ll find many items that we’ve never offered before, such as our dynamic price tags. Simply plug in the product information and our site will automatically calculate the Take It Home Today price and proper legal disclosures. Then, you can just place our tags on merchandise around your store.

We’ve also started a Marketing Co-Op fund for all of our retailers. That means you’ll earn virtual money for every signed agreement you submit. Your account will be updated monthly and any money earned will be added to your account balance. The more agreements you get signed, the more we’ll add to your account! You can use these funds for any items available in the TEMPOE Outlet. Items in the TEMPOE Outlet are already at a special, highly reduced price, but keep an eye out for closeout sales and promotions, as well.
